I am completely confident that God gives us the leaders we need/deserve to fulfill His ultimate plan in our midst. I’m pretty sure that He’s going to allow things to happen, that I’m not particularly comfortable with.

He is going to determine which party has the greatest influence and which individuals in that party will have a play in it all.

He is going to allow corrupt things to happen under the government He establishes. (Mankind will still have his free-will and mankind will still be subject to their fallen natures.)

He is going to allow our system of government to either; strengthen in Capitalism, or continue to creep towards Socialism.

He is going to let people that we might consider “evil”, to go and cast their vote. He will allow their vote to count.

He is going to allow the government to propose laws that that are morally offensive to us.

He is going to allow the government to propose laws and policies that might even limit our religious freedom, or possibly even promote some form of persecution.

He has already shown us, that He is willing to allow Roe vs. Wade to stand, even though it permits one murder every 20 seconds here in the USA.

He might even allow our government to change the constitution, and take our guns away. He allowed it in Britain and in Australia.

What does the Bible have to say?

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” (Romans 13:1)”

“..submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors… I Peter 2:13, 14″

“…be subject to rulers and authorities… Titus 3:1″

“… these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority and speak evil of dignitaries…. Jude 5:8″

“the king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

Who establishes our government? Who calls us to be in submission to it? Who tells us to not speak negatively of it? – You got it! God.

Right now, the day before the election, there are a bunch of Christians (people are told to “not fear” 366 times in the Bible), who are shaking in their boots over the result of tomorrow’s vote. They act as if one candidate is God’s and the other candidate belongs to Satan. They base this mostly on their positions concerning the abortion issue. Personally, I stand with my fellows in the faith on this issue, for I feel that a person’s view on life reveals a lot about their principles and their character. Personally, I want a leader with principles and character.

Unfortunately, principles and character don’t always give us what we want. I think George Bush is a man of strong principles and character. I think that he’s even a guy that I would like, sincerely as a person. And yet, even with that, the government has grown larger under his term than under any other president’s. I don’t want big government. The party that is supposed to be about smaller government gave me exactly what I expected out of the Democrats.

I personally think that one candidate expresses more character than the other. I’ll vote for that one. I’ll go tomorrow and vote, because this is a practice and an expression of freedom. At the same time, I can honestly say, that I don’t think my vote will mean anything on the other side of the lever. It’s in God’s hands… not ours. I wish I could vote for someone that would be easier to support as my president. Either way, I’m going to have a hard time feeling supportive of the guy who takes the office. But I will be.

For the past 8 years, people have had anti-George Bush stickers on their cars. If Obama gets the vote, we’ll see 4-8 years of anti-Obama stickers. I’ll never have one. If you’re a Christian, you’d better not have one either. We can speak our minds about the policies of our presidentt, but we cannot obediently speak evil of our dignitaries. We cannot disrespect an authority that is placed there by God.

God called Nebuchadnezzar, “My servant” several times. He was the guy who wanted people to worship his image or die. He was the guy who threw the faithful into the fiery furnace. He took God’s chosen people into captivity and destroyed Jerusalem.

That was God’s servant.

Very soon, we’ll know, who God’s servant will be here in the U.S.A.

By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY

No one likes war. War is a horrific affair, bloody and expensive. Sending our men and women into battle to perhaps die or be maimed is an unconscionable thought. Yet some wars need to be waged, and someone needs to lead. The citizenry and Congress are often ambivalent or largely opposed to any given war. It’s up to our leader to convince them. That’s why we call the leader ‘Commander in Chief.’ George W.’s war was no different.

There was lots of resistance to it. Many in Congress were vehemently against the idea. The Commander in Chief had to lobby for legislative approval. Along with supporters, George W. used the force of his convictions, the power of his title, and every ounce of moral suasion he could muster to rally support. He had to assure Congress and the public that the war was morally justified, winnable, and affordable. Congress eventually came around and voted overwhelmingly to wage war. George W. then lobbied foreign governments for support. But in the end, only one European nation helped us. The rest of the world sat on its hands and watched. After a few quick victories, things started to go bad. There were many dark days when all the news was discouraging. Casualties began to mount. It became obvious that our forces were too small. Congress began to drag its feet about funding the effort. Many who had voted to support the war just a few years earlier were beginning to speak against it and accuse the Commander in Chief of misleading them. Many critics began to call him incompetent, an idiot, and even a liar. Journalists joined the negative chorus with a vengeance. As the war entered its fourth year, the public began to grow weary of the conflict and the casualties. George W.’s popularity plummeted. Yet through it all, he stood firm, supporting the troops and endorsing the struggle. Without his unwavering support, the war would have surely ended, then and there, in overwhelming and total defeat. At this darkest of times, he began to make some changes. More troops were added and trained. Some advisers were shuffled, and new generals installed. Then, unexpectedly and gradually, things began to improve. Now it was the enemy that appeared to be growing weary of the lengthy conflict and losing support. Victories began to come, and hope returned. Many critics in Congress and the press said the improvements were just George W.’s good luck. The progress, they said, would be temporary. He knew, however, that in warfare good fortune counts. Then, in the unlikeliest of circumstances and perhaps the most historic example of military luck, the enemy blundered and was resoundingly defeated. After six long years of war, the Commander in Chief basked in a most hard-fought victory. So on that historic day, Oct. 19, 1781, in a place called Yorktown, a satisfied George Washington sat upon his beautiful white horse and accepted the surrender of Lord Cornwallis, effectively ending the Revolutionary War.

What?………. Were you thinking of someone else?*

Ecology

Global Warming Crisis: Cold iguanas are dropping out the trees in Southern Florida. Don’t fear, they’re not all dead. Experts say that many are just in a suspended state of animation. Elsewhere in the animal kingdom, the Center for Biological Diversity in Albuquerque, NM is raising awareness to the extinction crisis by offering free wildlife ringtones. So far, 100,000 have been uploaded, but there is no report as of yet to how this is impacting the critical populations of any particular species. Just the other day I was startled by the mating call of an Arctic Beluga Whale resounding from someone’s Motorola Razor. I’m sure someone in that room pulled out a checkbook and made a contribution to preserve their habitat. Not me. I was looking for the dead Chihuahua.

Polotics

Remember the girl who took a shot at President Ford? Sarah Jane Moore went to jail for life as a result of her failed assassination attempt. Somewhere along the lines the definition of life must have been reinterpreted. At 77 years old, she was released from her prison home in Dublin, CA. Elsewhere, Anderson, Indiana elected a new mayor. The new leader has been sworn in and is ready to move into his new office. There is a problem however. The ex-mayor, Kevin Smith refuses to leave. Other ex-politicians are making protest in France. Failed presidential candidate and destroyer of Mac Donalds, Jose Bove is refusing to eat until France outlaws genetically modified corn. This 50 something year old sheep farmer went into training for the strike by eating nothing but vegetable soup for several days. I’ll be keeping my eye on this story. Wagers are already being placed on how many days he’ll make it till gives in. I’ve put $20 down on 27 days at 17:1 odds.

Arts

Paul Stanley of KISS has a good attitude about his art: “My success in one field gets my foot in the door in another – but you’re free to slam the door on my foot.” Basically, what he’s saying is this: “My art stinks, but people buy it because I played guitar in KISS.” I appreciate the honesty.

Other News

Maybe you remember having an odd uncle. If so, the FBI wants to hear about it. It could be D.B. Cooper. Personally, I don’t know what any of my uncles were doing in ’71, so I’ve sent all their names in for investigation. In Ardmore, Oklahoma, 38 year old Tony Willis was arrested and charged for assault with a deadly pork chop bone. The injured man was found bleeding from a pork chop shaped hole in his kneck.
